  • Permits: Who is responsible for pulling any necessary permits from the city? Usually, it's the contractor, but make sure it's clear.
  • Cleanup: What's included in the cleanup after the job?

If a quote is just a single line item with a price, throw it out. You need specifics to compare apples to apples.

  • No written contract. Everything needs to be in writing. Period.
